What is the first cycle of studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo?

Literally, bachelor means unmarried man or unmarried woman (bachelor girl).

In terminology widely used in the English-speaking world, the same word (after shortening the term bachelor’s degree) denotes the holder of a diploma (regardless of gender) of the first academic degree.

The curricula of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, guided by the basic principles of the Bologna Process, will enable the holder of this degree to:

is adequately acquainted with the methodological and operational aspects of the subject and other basic disciplines in order to be able to use this knowledge to interpret and describe engineering problems; is adequately acquainted with the methodological and operational aspects of engineering, both general and directly related to his profession, in order to be able to formulate and solve engineering problems using modern techniques and instruments; be able to use techniques and instruments to design components, systems and processes; be able to conduct experiments, analyze them and interpret their results; is adequately familiar with the context and culture of his or her future work environment in its economic, managerial and organizational aspects; communicates successfully, both in writing and orally, including in English; has the ability to continuously supplement his knowledge through various forms (including independent work). Study programs of the first cycle of studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering are organized in four departments through four study programs:

Automation and electronics, Electric power, Computing and informatics, Telecommunications. Since 2012, the first cycle study programs at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo have received an international certificate from the accreditation agency for study programs ASIIN from Germany, which confirms that the first cycle study programs are in the fields of automation and electronics, power engineering, computing and informatics. and telecommunications in their content and manner of performance are fully consistent with the norms of higher education in force in the European Union.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering passed the same type of accreditation in 2018, so the accreditation for all four study programs continued for the period until 2024.
