What is the first cycle of studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo?

We offers four bachelor programmes in local languages.

All study programmes last three years (6 semesters, 180 ECTS credits) and offer wide range of elective courses for futher specializations. These study programmes share a common first semester.

The curricula and programs of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, guided by the basic principles of the Bologna process, will enable the holder of this degree to:

adequately knows the methodological-operational aspects of the subject and other basic disciplines in order to be able to use this knowledge to interpret and describe engineering problems;

adequately knows the methodological and operational aspects of engineering, both general and those directly related to his profession, in order to be able to formulate and solve engineering problems using modern techniques and instruments;

will be able to use techniques and instruments for designing components, systems and processes;

be able to conduct experiments, analyze them and interpret their results;

adequately knows the context and culture of his tomorrow's work environment in its economic, management and organizational aspects; communicates successfully, in writing and orally, including communication in English;

possesses the ability to continuously improve his knowledge through various forms (including independent work)..

The study programs of the first cycle of study at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering are organized into four departments through four study programs:

Automatic Control & Electronics,
Electric Power Engineering,
Computing & Informatics,
Telecommunications.

Since 2012, the study programs of the First Cycle at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo have received an international certificate from the accreditation agency for study programs ASIIN from Germany, with which this accreditation agency confirms that the study programs of the First Cycle in the fields of automatics and electronics, power engineering, computing and informatics and telecommunications, in terms of their content and method of execution, fully comply with the norms of higher education valid in the European Union.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering passed the same type of accreditation in 2018, so the accreditation for all four study programs was continued for the period until 2024.

No other higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina can boast of this accreditation.

After the completion of the study programs of the first cycle of study, graduates receive a title:
Bakalaureata/Bachelora - Electrical engineer, Department for {indicated one of the above-mentioned departments}.
